TT Bikes at the 61st Paris-Nice
By Paul Mirtschin
Got tech? Send press releases, news, and tech questions to the
Cyclingnews tech-heads.
Yet another big race, yet another set of time-trial bikes to drool over.
Cyclingnews' online editor Chris Henry was at the Prologue of the 61st Paris-Nice,
and managed to snap off some shots of the TT bikes present.
Euskaltel-Euskadi Orbea
Gorka Gonzalez's Euskaltel-Euskadi Orbea is built around the 2003 Chrono
frame.
Built from Columbus Altec 2+ Chrono tubing and featuring a Columbus Espresso
extruded bottom bracket, the bike looks fast just sitting there.
As with most bikes in the prologue, an ITM bar stem combo and Mavic wheelset
is present.

Milaneza-MSS Orbea
Like Euskaltel-Euskadi, the Portuguese Milaneza-MSS team also use the
Orbea Chrono for their time-trials.
With an almost identical components list, and an equally striking colour
scheme, the Chrono ensures that people know exactly what bike it is as
it flashes past.
The Milaneza-MSS colour scheme is a staff favourite here.

Kelme Look KG486
Kelme's new Look KG486 appears to distort time as it shoots past thanks
to the massively tapered HM AERO carbon tubes that make up the frame.
Kelme uses the FIR Killing System aero wheel on the rear, while Shimano
graces the front, also supplying the drivetrain.

|
Gerolsteiner Wilier
One for the Men in Black, this Gerolsteiner Wilier TT bike was devoid
of almost all identifying markings, unlike the bike in the background
shown
here.
Ambrosio wheels keep the Wilier rolling while Shimano once again supplies
drivetrain and other components

|
Saeco/Cannondale
Gilberto Simoni's Saeco/Cannondale would be just at home down the beach
as it is shooting past at 50km/h.
Built around a custom CAAD6 Aero Hollowgram Ironman frame using Alcoa
Optimo tubing, Simoni's ride features the best from Campagnolo, Cinelli,
Mavic and Fi'zi:k.
And it is red, so it goes faster.
