Cyclingnews tech-heads. Welcome to New Arrivals, a section showcasing the latest equipment
that's landed on the Cyclingnews tech desk. Look out for reviews over
the next few months when we've clocked up some saddle time with this stuff. We don't usually dedicate all of New Arrivals to one manufacturer, but
Campagnolo just sent us a big box of 2004 spring/summer clothing, so today,
here's a look at the whole shebang.
         Campagnolo Dynaflex Bib shorts

          | | Dynaflex Bib shortsOne of the flagship items in Campagnolo's top-end Dynaflex line of clothing,
these bib shorts are perhaps the most thoroughly detailed we've ever seen.
They boast a wide variety of materials depending on the area of the shorts:
honeycomb Lycra for the bib, double stretchable mesh, and thick, conforming
Lycra for the main body. As you'd expect, Campagnolo has paid lots of attention to the seat lining,
which resembles your old slab-of-leather chamois about as much as a Ducati
996 resembles a 1957 Royal Enfield. The three-layer construction includes
a thin layer of foam for cushioning and the top fabric is impregnated
with silver, which Campagnolo claims inhibits bacterial growth. There's plenty of reflective tape for evening and night-time visibility,
a double back pocket for your keys and change and silicome legs grippers
to keep things in place. More info: www.campagnolo.com

         The tri-tone Dynaflex jersey

          | | Campagnolo Dynaflex jerseyThe matching shirt is similarly detailed, with mesh and lightweight fabric
over areas that tend to get sweaty, Scotchlite reflective piping for visibility,
two roomy rear pockets with more Scotchlite bwteen them and a full-length
zip for those days when you just have to cool off as much as possible.
There are also three-quarter zip and a sleeveless versions. All the Dynaflex jerseys use UV-opaque fabrics across the shoulders and
claim a UV protection factor of 50+. More info: www.campagnolo.com

         The Dynaflex gloves

          | | Campagnolo Dynaflex glovesCampagnolo's Dynaflex gloves feature honeycomb and mesh backing with
reflective piping to keep your hand signals visible at night, and a synthetic
leather palm criss-crossed with silicone gripper. There's also plenty
of fine-pile towelling for those sweaty (or very cold!) days when you
just have to wipe. More info: www.campagnolo.com

For when it gets a little colder

          | | Dynaflex jacketFor cooler and damp rides, Campagnolo offers this waterproof, breathable
Textran nylon jacket to pull over the rest of your Dynaflex ensemble.
It features ventilation zips on the back and shoulders, a pair of zip-up
rear pockets and reflective fabric on the back and elbows. More info: www.campagnolo.com

         The Metal jersey

          | | Campagnolo Metal full zip jerseyNext down from Dynaflex in Campagnolo's clothing hierarchy, the Metal
series is nevertheless high-zoot kit. The Metal full zip jersey is made
from Hydrofit fabric that features instantaneous moisture evaporation,
according to Campagnolo, with mesh in sweaty areas like the armpits and
reflective piping for evening rides. More info: www.campagnolo.com

         The Metal C Tp gloves

          | | Campagnolo Metal ComforTemp Gloves These gloves feature Lycra and a material called ConforTemp, a foam that's
claimed to actively help with temperature regulation, using 'phase change
technology'. The palm features an embossed Campagnolo logo and there's
a reflective logo on te back, along with a good-sized fine-pile towilling
        wipe. More info: www.campagnolo.com

         Metal racing bib shorts

          | | Campagnolo Metal racing bib shortsThe Metal bibs feature a polypropylene bib with flat stitching so it's
comfortable whatever you're wearing over the top, and Campagnolo's EPP
three-layer lining with ComforTemp foam. There's a diddy pocket in the
back for your change and key and silicone elastic grippers keep the legs
        in place. More info: www.campagnolo.com

         Campagnolo's Metal

          | | Campagnolo Metal vestFor cooler spring days (or the beginning of autumn as currently being
experienced in Cyclingnews' Sydney office) the Metal vest is made from
stretchable, windproof Textran. There's a two-way zip with a fabric flap
to stop it rubbing on your neck and elastic in the collar to snug it round
your neck. As you'd expect from an outer layer that's going to see plenty of evening
use, there's also lots of reflective piping; silicone grippers help stop
it riding up. More info: www.campagnolo.com

         The budget-level

          | | Campagnolo NEXT shortNEXT is Campagnolo's cost-conscious clothing range but the shorts are
        still a decent-quality item, with six-panel construction, EPP, three-layer
lining, reflective logo and leg grips. More info: www.campagnolo.com

         The Next jersey under lights,

          | | Campagnolo Next full zip jerseyThe Next Coolmax full zip jersey might just turn out to be one of the
bargains of Campagnolo's clothing range. Construction is classically simple
to keep costs down - three main panels, a zip, raglan sleeves and three
back pockets - but the interesting feature is the colour print. As well
as adding an unusual look (which is one of those things we're sure people
will love or hate) the pattern is reflective and lights up in headlights
for extra visibility. More info: www.campagnolo.com
