Elite Men's Criterium

- In the early stages of the race, the peloton was all strung out as the men with fresh legs quickly weeded out the deadwood
- Kristjan Snorrason (Carnegie Caulfield) didn't waste too much time in the main pack before launching off the front on his own, bridging across to teammate James Taylor
- Rod McGee (Paramatta CC) became frustrated at the main field's motivation to bring back the break of Taylor and Snorrason (Carnegie Caulfield), so he went off on his own - but not before sliding out on the dangerous bottom corner

- Natalie Bates (Paramatta CC) sits comfortably in the peloton, but missed the main move of the day initiated by Lorian Graham (Astra CC)
- Lorian Graham (Astra CC) sweeps gracefully into the corner as she furthers her lead from the peloton
- Helen Kelly (Carnegie Caulfield) managed to bridge across to Lorian Graham (Astra CC) soon after Graham's move, and the pair quickly established an unbeatable lead over the main field
- Sonya Keay (Hamilton Pine Rivers) still felt the sting in the legs from the yesterday's road race
- The chasing peloton is led by Natalie Bates (Paramatta CC), but it was too little, too late
- The lunge to the line was awfully close, but Lorian Graham (Astra CC, right) lunged best, taking out her first championship crit title over Helen Kelly (Carnegie Caulfield)

U23 Men's Criterium

- Jonathan Davis (St George CC) uses his adept bike handling skills to carve up the corners
- Jonathan Davis (St George CC) was the main protagonist in launching the key move of the day, and he and Jonathan Cantwell drove it all the way to the line
- Halfway through the race, Troy Glennan (St George Cycling Club) was wondering why his brakes didn't work; it didn't take too long to find out why
- Brendan Cato (Illawarra CC) tried his best to bring back the break containing Davis and Cantwell, but just couldn't match the horsepower of the pair out in front
- In the closing stages of the race, the peloton had resigned themselves to it being a race for third place
- Lee Godfrey (Geelong West CC) had enough strength remaining to take out the bunch sprint for third place
- Jonathan Davis (St George CC) was a deserving winner on the day. He thought so too

- There are often ways of amusing yourself if you're not so interested in what's going on around you
Juniors
- The boys from Midland Cycling Club are a close-knit bunch of guys
- Greg Beer (Penrth Panthers CC) sits in comfortably among the peloton in the junior under 15 men's criterium
- Hayden Josefski (Broncos CC) appears to already possess the cornerning abilities of a criterium specialist
- Simon Clark (Carnegie Caufield CC) appears oblivious to the ominous clouds that circled the Yandina circuit for the better part of the day
- Joseph Depasquale (Central Districts CC) was a key member of the successful breakaway trio that contained eventual winner Matt Goss (West Tamar CC) in the junior under 17 men's criterium
- Mark Bergamin (Adelaide CC) rode well to place second in the junior under 17 men's criterium
- Hot Goss-ip - Matt Goss (West Tamar CC) will be the talk of the town back in Tasmania after two convincing wins at the National Road Championships
- Matt Goss (West Tamar CC) continued his superb form, backing up his win in the road race with a clear sprint victory in the junior under 17 men's criterium
- Chris Sutton (St George CC) was clearly the strongest rider during the junior under 19 men's criterium, but didn't count on fellow clubmate Warren Scott's awesome turn of speed in the final dash to the line
- Not so cheery - Dane Cheers (Norwood CC) was a victim of the final off-camber corner in the junior under 19 men's criterium
- Grant Irwin gives it his all in the closing stages of the junior under 19 men's criterium
- Onya Wazza! - Warren Scott (St George CC) outsprinted pre-race favourite and fellow club member Chris Sutton to take out the queen event of the day, the junior under 19 men's criterium championship

- Jessie Mclean (Canberra CC) was one of the protagonists in the junior under 19 women's criterium, but was outfoxed by a never-say-die Kirby Piscioneri (West Tamar CC)
- Megan Windsor (Bathurst CC) went off the front on numerous occasions during the junior under 19 women's criterium, but was brought back each time
- The human yo-yo - Kirby Piscioneri (West Tamar CC) got dropped and then latched back on on a number of occassions, eventually outfoxing all her opponents to pull off the win of the day

Elite Men's Road Race

- Rodney McGee (Paramatta CC) didn't quite have the form today, eventually retiring with around 30 kilometres remaining
- Jarron Poad (Northern Districts CC) most likely never imagined such a brutal day in the saddle
- The lead group of eleven, being driven by Glen Stojanow and Bart Hickson (Caravello)
- Paul Redenbach (Footscray CC) was quite clearly the best of the rest within the peloton, but it was simply a case of too little, too late
- Glen Stojanow was one of the select group of 12 riders that rode in the break and stayed in the break, right up until the very end
- The select group of eleven riders begin the penultimate ascension of the 550 metre climb. Little did they know that a wiry Klayten Smith (Caravello, far right) was about to unleash a devastating attack that none could follow

Elite Women's Road Race

- The women's peloton began riding under dark clouds. The heat soon disappated any chance of rain, and the skies soon cleared, revealing a beautiful day
- The women's peloton all together on the main climb of the day, which turned out to be an indifferent scenario for each and every subsequent ascent
- Elizabeth Williams (Carnegie Caulfield CC) struggles to regain her momentum after an untimely puncture
- Erin Philp (Nowra Velo Club) knew that to be a contender, she had to stay with the front group on the second climb
- Christine Riakos (St George CC) watches the wheel of her main adversary, Jennifer Manefield (Paramatta CC), but just couldn't come round the petite pocket-rocket in the final dash to the line
- Defending champion Jennifer Manefield (Paramatta CC) did only what was necessary to stay with the lead group, but no more than that
U23 Men's Road Race

- The early break that went on the very first lap - David Betts, Jonathan Cantwell (Lifecycle CC) and Bruce McIntosh (Carnegie Caulfield CC)
- The Energizer kid - David Betts (Lifecycle CC) not only managed to recover from a 70k break, he won the field sprint for second, missing out on the win by a tyre's width
- The first 350 metre climb was hard, but no way near as difficult as the 14% brute that followed
- Don't look round! James Hannam (Norwood CC) timed his effort to absolute perfection. If it was any closer, he'd have lost the race

Men
- Chief Commissaire for the NRCC, Alf Walker, at the start of the junior under 19 men's road race
- Wheelie-bin - plenty of spares, just in case
- Chris Sutton (St George Cycling Club) gave it all he had, but didn't count on an unstoppable David Kemp (Toowoomba) in the junior under 19 men's road race
- David Kemp (Toowoomba) was clearly the protagonist in today's junior under 19 men's road race, and his incessant attacks paid handsome dividends
- The final sprint in the junior under 19 men's road race - both David Kemp and Chris Sutton throw themselves at the line, and on this occassion, Kemp was just too good
- The second climb, 550 metres in length was a real leg-sapper, and proved decisive in a number of categories throughout the day. Here the under 17 men are mostly altogether, and it stayed that way right until the finish
- Hope-d for the best - Cameron Hope (Wagga Wagga Cycling Club) relied on his finishing kick to take him up to a spot on the podium
- Cameron Hope (Wagga Wagga Cycling Club) found the going tough, but gritted his teeth for a fine finish
- Oh my Goss! - Matt Goss (West Tamar Cycling Club) laid the foundation for a superb sprint and cleaned up accordingly in the men's under 17 road race
- Tyler McLachlan (Southern Cross Cycling Club) saw a gap and let it rip, giving him the glory of a silver medal
- Slow and steady wins the race... sometimes - Sam Walton (Canberra CC) gives his best effort, and comes lucky last
- The under 15 men's peloton happy to be out when clouds parted and the sun started shining once again
Women
- Apryl Eppinger (Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Club) was one of the three that managed to stay with eventual winner Amber Malone (Northern Districts CC) when she attacked on the second last lap in the women's under 19 road race
- Jessie Maclean (Canberra Cycling Club) gives it plenty of stick in an effort to drop Apryl Eppinger (Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Club)
- Jessica Tanner (Shepparton CC) gives a poker-face stare, while riders surrounding her suffer in her wake
- The women's under 17 field negotiate the turn that takes them back for another lap of fun and games
- Rota's got the motor - Sarah Rota (C.A.T.S.) pulled off an awesome sprint to capture the junior under 17 women's road race
- "I'm stuffed, but it was worth it" - Sarah Rota's (C.A.T.S.) pre-race strategy worked to absolute perfection, and won the sprint convincingly in the women's under 17 road race
Individual Time Trial - U23 Men, Elite Men & Women presentation
- Happy chappies - the podium places from day two of competition
Individual Time Trial - Elite Men
- Givin' it some Milos-stick - Peter Milostic (Penrith Panthers CC) didn't have the best sensations out on the bike today, but had the form that enabled him to capture his first national ITT title
- Manager - rider - champion - Rod McGee (Paramatta CC) has managed his time on and on the bike well, riding very strongly to place second on a course tailored for TT specialists
- Go Russ! - Russell Van Hout (Adelaide Cycling Club) gave it everything today, but it was only enough for third
Individual Time Trial - Elite Women
- Playing it safe - Amy Safe (Norwood CC) carefully negotiates the hairpin turn at the end of lap one
- Louise Yaxley (City of Burnie Cycling Club) puts her head down and bum up as she launches herself out of the starting gate

- De winner is Godfrey - Lee Godfrey (Geelong West CC) knew what he had to do today to win and fulfilled his expectations perfectly
- Bringing it home - Jonathan Davis (St George Cycling Club) found his groove on the second lap, and allowed him to cement his place on the second step of the podium
- Kemp-ing it real - Aaron Kemps (Coral Island CC) powered home to a fine place on the podium

- No, not a high school reunion, but the medal winners from the various junior age categories

- Birthday bash - Chris Sutton (St George Cycling Club) got his best ever birthday pressie today, winning the junior U19 men's ITT on his 18th birthday
Women
- Determination - Tess Downing (Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Club) a picture of determination, eventually finishing five seconds down on winner Grace Sulzberger (West Tamar CC) in the junior under 15 women's ITT
- Grace Sulzberger (West Tamar) takes off for a gold medal-winning ride in the junior under 15 women's ITT
- And I'll huff and I'll puff... Therese Rhodes (NT) Alice Springs CC gives it all she's got to take out the bronze medal in the junior under 15 women's ITT
- Natasha Mapley (Mersey Valley Devonport) had a great ride to finish on the podium in the junior under 17 women's ITT
- I did Orr-right today - actually Britany Orr (Randwick Botany) did more than all right - she won the junior jnder 17 women's ITT title
- Not the easiest of disciplines - Michelle Rowe (Leongatha) shows the pain of an all-out effort
- Sarah McLachlan (Southern Cross Cycling Club) just scraped into a podium place by 0.2 of a second from Amber Malone (Northen Districts CC) in the junior under 19 women's ITT
