Men's Individual Pursuit

Sergi Escobar Roure (Spain) got the men's individual pursuit off to a flying start by setting the fastest time in qualifying on Wednesday evening.

The first round was marked by strong rides from two of the heat winners, who never looked challenged, and come-from-behind victories by the other two, one of whom made up a deficit of almost three seconds to take the win.

The final ride-offs for the medals were gripping affairs as a relative newcomer to the discipline upset the favourites, and the bronze medal was decided by the slimmest of margins.
