Australian Staurt O'Grady rides for Team CSC and is one of the most experienced riders in this year's Tour de France. The Aussie has already used up all the bad luck for the past year, returning from a horrible crash in the 2007 Tour and a broken collarbone in the 2008 Giro. O'Grady has won two stages in the Tour de France. He finished second in the points classification four times and has worn the yellow jersey. Things are looking promising for 2008 and Stuey will keep Cyclingnews' readers informed via his diary.

Another Aussie in yellow!

It's gotta be a very memorable moment for Cadel. I'm positive he'll have many more to come in the future, but your first one is always very, very special!

It was a super tough stage, the hardest so far I think. We rode a near perfect race today. The tactics that Bjarne planned this morning were played out almost to perfection from the boys today.

Fabian did a great job getting in the break, Jens rode like an absolute animal up the Tourmalet, going deeper than I think he even thought was possible! He ripped the bunch to pieces then they time trialled all the way to the bottom of the final climb.

Frank waited for the right moment before putting in his attack and came excruciatingly close to taking his first yellow jersey too. But I believe everything happens for a reason. His turn will come I'm sure.

A lot of the big favourites lost valuable time today and it's really going to make for an interesting race through the Alps. But first things first. A rest day. It has been such an intense Tour de France so far. I know for a fact everyone is looking forward to chilling out and not eating pasta and rice for breaky!

Time for a massage!

Ciao for now,

Stuart
