12th Paralympic Games - JOAthens, September 18-27, 2004Main Page Results Explanation of categories Previous Day Day 8 - September 27Overall titles for Scott and OtxoaAustralian team captain and veteran cyclist Chris Scott has led from the front - today claiming his second gold medal of the Paralympic Games in Athens. Scott, competing in his fifth Paralympics, came home first in the CP 4 Road Time Trial to earn enough points when combined with his Road Race result last weekend, to top the pool. Team mate, Peter Homann, of Melbourne, finished third behind Scott in the Time Trial to finish third overall in the combined event to take the bronze medal. Earlier, two time track gold medalist Peter Brooks, of Sydney, captured the bronze in his category of the individual time trial and road race. "This is a very picturesque course, but there are plenty of hairy bends… you have to be fast but very wary," commented a happy Scott. In the CP 3 category, Britain's Darren Kenny beat Javier Otxoa of Spain in the time trial, leaving the two level on points. Otxoa was awarded the overall title on countback.
