Stage 1 - Saturday, May 12: Caprera - La Maddalena (Team TT), 24 km

The Giro d'Italia returns to Sardinia (Sardegna) after 16 years with a twisting, turning windswept team time trial test from the northern tip of Sardinia to La Maddalena island, site of an American submarine base. Powerhouse CSC is the logical favourite, but watch Discovery Channel and Quickstep.
