It's over

Well it's over, my first Grand Tour. As I told you, I have been falling in love with Italy and now, after finishing the Giro and having seen a lot more of the country, my feelings are even stronger. It sure is a beautiful country.

Milan - the last stage and the last chance? I had a bit of a go when I tried to catch Ignatiev (the Giro's most aggressive rider.) on my own. But I could never imagine the peloton would let either of us get far but at least I showed myself and the Disco colours. I was right at the back a few K's before I went and had to move right up to the front, not an easy thing to do. Maybe it was a bit stupid knowing the kind of effort you have to make for a successful break. I have this tendency ride at the front or at the back. It is not this way all the time but much of it is when I haven't got a specific job to do. I often get a lot of stick for this and I am going to have change my ways.

The team party on Sunday night was great, and having (girlfriend) Nicky there was a great bonus. Had a few beers! I think I deserved them.

I was asked a few times whether I will be riding the Tour, (Which starts in London.) I doubt it very, very much but hopefully next year, which I think is best really. However the Vuelta isn't out of the question.

Thank you all for your wonderful support and if you want to contact me or ask some more questions please contact me via Rich at sport_publicity @ hotmail.com

Keep it real. Best,
Steve
