Results and Reports from AustraliaPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to Cyclingnews Illawarra CCFebruary 23, 2002Adam Rourke once again took out the Caesar's Illawarra Cycle Club 18 kilometre time trial on Sunday. Hot on the heels of his recent victory at Dunc Grey Velodrome, Rourke beat the rest of the field even though he rode the more difficult Marshal Mount course. Time trials aren't everyone's favourite and when it is raining they are even less popular. Despite frequent showers a dozen riders fronted for the final of the summer time trial series which is intended to recognise the improvement of the individual riders over a a three month period. Although it is difficult to compare the easier course ridden by all but Rourke and Mitch Perason, the flatter "two short laps" reduced times by about two minutes. Times were still impressive with veteran Rob Calladine showing the younger riders how it's done. Improving with every ride, Andy Shannon and Anna Habeck also put in good rides. Next Sunday is a 37 kilometer scratch race with group 10 providing marshals.
