Men Keirin Heats

• Sean Dwight (NSW) falls on top of Wade Bootes (Qld) in the men's Keirin heats. Bootes quite clearly came off second best.
• Dwight (NSW) and Bootes (Qld) start the inevitable tumble.
• Crash landing.
• Wade Bootes (Qld) is believed to have broken his left collarbone, saying afterwards, "I think I can kiss my BMX season goodbye."

• Hold the phone! Rochelle Gilmore (NSW) holds the phone for her injured boyfriend Wade Bootes (Qld) while he gently releases the bad news to his mum.

Men U19 30km Madison Championship

• The Victorian pair of Mitchell Docker and Simon Clark about to do the handsling thang.
• It was neck and neck between Victoria and NSW, with Warren Scott (NSW) sitting right behind the wheel of Michael Ford (Vic)
• Sean Finning (Vic) exchanges plesantries with Chris Pascoe (NSW).
• All smiles - at least for the Victorians Michael Ford (L) and Sean Finning, anyway.

Men U19 Keirin Final

• On the bell lap of the men's U19 keirin final, Andrew Taylor (NSW) gets set to pounce.

Women Keirin Final

• Anna Meares (Qld, L), Rochelle Gilmore (NSW, M) and Rosealee Hubbard (SA, R) took the podium positions in exactly that order.
• The derny bike takes the keirin women's finalists through the required number of laps before peeling off for the sprint finale.

Men Keirin Final

• Mark French's finishing speed carried him to his fourth gold medal in the men's keirin final.

Men's Points Race

• Bradley Norton (Vic, 3rd wheel) came home strong, coming within 5 points of winner Darren Young (Tas) after taking out the final sprint.
• The view from the stands at the Dunc Gray Velodrome.
• Darren Young (Tas, 2nd wheel) and his Tassie teammates simply outplayed their opponents in a extremely tactical Points Race .
• The Chris Sutton (NSW) fanclub - every time Sutton rode past, a massive yell of "go CJ!" was heard throughout. Sutton finished 3rd behind Young and Norton.

Women Multi Disability Tandem Flying 200

• West Australians Janet Shaw and Leeanne Manderson broke a long-standing world record in the Tandem Flying 200, setting a time of 12.126 (59.38km/h).
• Janelle Lindsay and Lindy Hou from NSW were no slouches either, taking the silver medal in the Flying 200 with a time of 12.272 (58.67km/h).

Men 1 Lap Time Trial

• In a completely new event in track cycling, Mark French (Vic) gets set to blast off in the 1 lap Time Trial.
• Mark French (Vic) was the fastest of 37 starters with a scorching time of 18.494 (48.66km/h).

Women Sprint Final

• In a close-fought race for the bronze, Anna Meares (Qld) took the honours over Elizabeth Williams.
• Anna Meares (Qld) eyes her Kiwi adversary with steely eyes.
• In the second round of the Women's Sprint Final, Kerrie Meares (Qld) took a tumble at the start, but quickly composed herself like a true professional.
• After Kerrie Meares (Qld) pulled her foot, Rosealee Hubbard (SA) was given a warning, requiring two restarts.
• Meares (Qld) chose to lead on both occassions, keeping Hubbard (SA) high on the banking until the final 100 metres.

Men Multi Disability Tandem Sprint Final

• Kieran Modra (WA, front) and Darren Harry (WA) came from 1-0 down take out the Multi Disability Tandem Sprint finals.

Men Team Sprint

• The Grecian trio rode like a well-oiled machine in the Team Sprint, easily accounting for Queensland with a time of 46.849.
• In the playoff for the bronze, the New South Welshman defeated Victoria in a time of 46.953.
• Wade Bootes (Qld) gives Cyclingnews photographer Tom Balks his best bad-ass look.

Women U19 20km Points Race

• Third-placed Amy Kirk (WA) takes the inside line in the closing moments of the Women's Points Race.
• It may be the bell lap, but Renee Braithwaite (SA) already had the race stitched up.
• A spectator's eye view of the bunch.
• Kate Nichols (NSW) finished second behind winner Renee Braithwaite (SA).
• Renee Braithwaite (SA) punches the air with delight, having done enough throughout the race to take the Points Race title.

Men 15km Scratch Race Final

• The bunch at full tilt with three laps to go.
• Rodney McGee (NSW) gets in the thick of the action.
• Once Wade Cosgrove (Qld) was home and hosed, Grant Irwin (Qld) took a flyer to make the podium a Queensland 1-2.
• Mark Jamieson (Tas, 3rd from front) did plenty of work at the head of the bunch, but the Queenslanders were simply too good tonight.
• Wade Cosgrove (Qld) launches his race-winning move, taking a flyer from a massive one and a half laps out.
• Wade Cosgrove (Qld) throws his bike at the line to assure himself of championship victory.

Women 25km Points Race

• A mass pile-up occurred less than a quarter of the way into the race, with Katrina Purcell (WA) coming off second-best.
• Lisa Fletcher (NSW) was another victim in the accident. Hopefully she's got another pair of shorts sitting at home.
• Lisa Fletcher (NSW) looks a little starry eyed, but thankfully none of the women were seriously hurt.
• Second-placed Louise Yaxley (Tas) leads race winner Rochelle Gilmore (NSW) in the final stages of the race.
• With a margin impossible to match, Rochelle Gilmore (NSW) was more than happy to sit in the confines of the bunch until the final 100 metres.
• Rochelle Gilmore (NSW) was a convincing winner in the Points Race, winning by a massive 13 point margin over Louise Yaxley (Tas).

Men's Team Pursuit

• The team from New Zealand line up for the final against Victoria.
• Victorian locomotive Robert Wilson was particularly emotional after his team's win.
• In one of many turns at the front, Robert Wilson (Vic) leads the boys in blue home.

Men's Sprint

• Ben Kersten (NSW) rides high against fellow New South Welshman Shaun Hopkins in the race for bronze.
• Mark French (Vic) had his work cut out against Ryan Bayley (WA) in the Sprint finals.
• In the second of three rounds, Ryan Bayley (WA) went out hard with over 150 metres to go, and drove it all the way to the line.
• Ryan Bayley's (WA) pure strength won him the title of 2003 Australian Sprint Champion.

Women's U19 Sprint

• Apryl Eppinger (Vic) proved fastest in the Sprint, making light work of Lucy Stewart (Act) by winning 2-0.
• Lucy Stewart (ACT) ran out of legs in the final, allowing Eppinger a comfortable ride home.
• Rebecca Borgo (NSW) was the best of the rest, accounting for Kirby Piscioneri (Tas) in the ride for the bronze medal.

Men U19 25km Points Race

• The bunch all together, but still early days.
• Michael Ford (Vic) rode the race of his life in the final lap, but was pipped by Miles Olman (Qld) for third.
• Miles Olman (Qld) matched Ford wheel for wheel, but nothing Olman or Ford could do would stop Sean Finning (Vic) from winning.
• Phil Stokes (NSW) put on a valiant effort to take fourth place.
• Sean Finning (Vic) established an early lead that proved unassailable, becoming U19 national Points Race champion.

• The crowd watches in anticipation as the New Zealand squad line up during the Men's & U19 Team Pursuit semi final.
• A little too young to compete, but never too young to watch.
• There's rarely a shortage of bike riders willing to spend money to get their hands (or feet) into the latest bike technology.

• The Dunc Gray velodrome was built specifically for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Three years on, it continues to serve a worthwhile purpose to aspiring Olympians.

Women Individual Pursuit

• Part-timer on the boards and 2001 Australian road champion, Katie Mactier (Vic) demolished her opposition in the Individual Pursuit.
• Amy Safe (SA) had to settle for second after Mactier's championship-winning time of 3.41.348. Safe finished with a time of 3.45.786.

M19 3000m Individual Pursuit

• Stocky Victorian Michael Ford won the bronze medal, comfortably beating Andrew Wyper (NSW).
• Chris Pascoe (NSW) on his way to winning the closest-fought and arguably the most thrilling event of the evening, the U19 Individual Pursuit.
• Sean Finning (Vic) and Chris Pascoe (NSW) swapped the lead throughout the event, but in the end, it was Pascoe nudging out Finning by a mere 15/100ths of a second.
• Many hands make light work for Chris Pascoe (NSW) - flanked by NSWIS Head Coach Gary Sutton and personal coach Garry Dawson.
• I wish I had my bike - Sean Eadie (NSW) might be out with an injury, but his humour and on-field jokes are tireless.

Men's Sprint 1/4 finals

• World Champion Mark French (Vic) easily accounts for Wade Bootes (Qld) in the quarter finals of the men's Sprint.
• You lookin' at me? Ryan Bayley's (WA) gives his best tough guy stare to Damien Keirl (Vic).
• Wade Cosgrove (Qld) somewhat surprisingly overcame pre-race favourite Shaun Hopkins (NSW), albeit after three rounds.

W19 2000m Individual Pursuit

• Are you Maclean's showing? In-form Jessie Maclean (ACT) was smiling all the way to the finish, posting a sizzling time of 2.33.122 to take the U19 Individual Pursuit.
• Silver medallist Renee Braithwaite (SA) was some way off Maclean's time, over four seconds down.

Women's 10k Scratch Race

• Calm before the storm - the bunch all together at the start of the women's 10k Scratch Race.
• Rochelle Gilmore's (NSW) class more than anything pulled her through with the win tonight, still recovering from a heavy season of road racing in Europe.
• Tammy Boyd (NZl) was one of two riders to come down in the closing moments of the Scratch Race.

Men U19 1k Time Trial

• Christoper Pascoe (NSW) on his way to second place.
• The first champion and dual champion of this year's track titles, Shane Perkins (Vic), on his way to another win.
• Warren Scott (NSW) gives it his all, but the two New South Welshman were some way off the time of Shane Perkins.

Men 1k Time Trial

• Ben Kersten (NSW) throws down the gauntlet in the Kilo.
• Oh no, not again - Ryan Bayley (WA) looks like he'd prefer to watch an episode of Big Brother than ride his bike again.
• Ryan Bayley (WA) throws himself and machine at the line, but his best was not quite good enough tonight.
• Ben's back - Ben Kersten's (NSW) national championship victory was also a victory of confidence.

Men Individual Pursuit

• Mark Jamieson (Tas) showed his class once again with a convincing win in the Individual Purusit.
• Robert Wilson (Vic) went out hard in the finals of the Individual Pursuit, but faded towards the end.
• A common but welcome sight in track racing: Mark Jamieson (Tas) and Robert Wilson (Vic) congratulate each other on their efforts.

Women Team Sprint

• A winning team - Alexandra Bright, Anna Meares and Kerrie Meares (Qld) on their way to posting the fatest time in the Team Sprint.
• Rebecca Ellis (NSW) gave it plenty in the Team Sprint, but unfortunately for NSW, the Queenslanders were just too good.

Men U19 25k Points Race

• Simon Clark (Vic) leads the bunch during the Men's U19 25k Points Race.
• The bunch packed tight as sardines.
• Points race winner Daniel Thorsen (Vic) gives it his all, and not a moment too soon.
• Big, deep breaths - winner Daniel Thorsen (Vic) finds it difficult to breathe right now, let alone smile.
