Franco Marvulli took his second gold medal of the championships when he combined with Bruno Risi to snare the Madison title for Switzerland. Marvulli, who won the scratch race, and Risi lapped the field and finished with 13 points.

New Zealand's Greg Henderson and Hayden Roulston took a lap with 21 laps of the 180-lap race to go to claim the silver medal. Juan Esteban Curuchet and Walter Perez of Argentina took the bronze medal.
