Welcome to New Arrivals, a section showcasing the latest equipment that's landed on the Cyclingnews tech desk. Look out for reviews over the next few months when we've clocked up some saddle time with this stuff.

Cateye double wireless computer

Cateye CC-CD300CW

Cateye describes this latest in its wide range of cycle computers as a 'double wireless' design. It provides both speed/distance functions and cadence measurement by means of a single sensor unit that mounts of the chainstay, and data is transmitted wirelessly to the handlebar unit.

Cyclingnews team jersey & shorts

Cyclingnews team gear

Here's one from the Blatant Plug Department™: our own team strip, as worn by the riders of our Belgium-based Division III pro squad, Team Cyclingnews.com, is now available to buy from the Cyclingnews shop.

Our team strip is made in Belgium by top clothing manufacturer Bioracer so the quality is first-rate. The jerseys feature a short zip and soft-touch wicking fabric while the bib-shorts are comfortable enough for long days in the saddle on the cobbles of Flanders - and with our logo across your, er, lower back, everyone you pass can see which is your favourite cycling website!

Prices: Au$98.99/AU$104.49

Cage Rocket

Cage Rocket

For years DIY-minded riders have bodged-up an easily carried container for tools and other on-the-road necessities by hacking up an old water bottle - just cut off the top, stuff your gear inside with a bag or rag to hold it all together and throw a couple of elastic bands round the top to keep everything down. It's not pretty, but it works.

Bottle Rocket is a rather more elegant incarnation of his idea. It's a moulded plastic canister with a hinged lid and a thin foam lining so that the contents don't rattle about too much. Its big advantage over a seat-mounted pouch, according to the folks at cage Rocket, is that you can get at the contents while riding.

Bianchi retro wool jersey

Santini Bianchi replica jersey

In these days of carbon frames, titanium sprockets and super-rocketium handlebars it's easy to find yourself hankering for the far-off days when cycling was a simpler matter of man and bicycle against the roads and the mountains.

British retailer Prendas Ciclismo sent us this wool/acrylic jersey by Santini that recalls the heroic days of cycling greats such as Fausto Coppi. A replica of the jersey style worn in the days of yore, it features button rear pockets and of course it's celeste blue.

Nostalgia aside, wool's a surprisingly effective material for jerseys with a staunch following. It's warm in winter, comfortable in surprisingly high temperatures in summer takes a long time to get smelly.
