Track sprinters are always larger-than-life figures and this year noone has been larger and beardier than Australian sprint star Sean Eadie who topped off a remarkable year with a world's gold medal - and the ceremonial loss of That Beard. Eadie's achievements in 2002 landed him enough of your votes to put him half a velodrome ahead of Brad McGee and Chris Hoy, in second and third.
Australians figured prominently in the voting and several of you plumped for the whole Australian team as your selection, while perennial favourites such as Marty Nothstein, Arnaud Tournant and Matthew Gilmore also made an appearance.
