Riders finished the event at Tiaro to join locals for festivities on the banks of the Mary River. A and B grades combined for their 42km race around Mungar then on to Tiaro. Riders set a blistering pace from the start which meant some were unable to continue the hot pace and dropped off the back. Michael Wroe won the sprint finish from Clint Johnson and Mark Heatherington. Vets/Women completed a distance of 30km. The bunch stayed together ensuring a sprint finish. George Wroe won the dash for the line followed by Linda Jeremy and Gino D'Orio. C grade also covered a distance of 30km. David Keevers had some bad luck puncturing shortly after the start and then had to chase the bunch unassisted. He managed to catch them just before the finish and produced a top effort to gain third place. Trent Pitt and Trevor Geysing were first and second respectively. Juniors raced 15km and Bryanna Langford held out Steve Donaldson in the race for the line. While at Tiaro riders contested a hill climb of some 200mts. Clint Johnson was able to reverse the road race result finishing ahead of Michael Wroe and David Keevers. ResultsA&B Grades 1 M. Wroe 2 C. Johnson 3 M. Heatherington Vets/Women 1 G. Wroe 2 L.
