Rodriguez and Nothstein to compete in First Union series

Reigning USPRO champion Fred Rodriguez (Domo-Farm Frites) and Olympic Gold Medalist Marty Nothstein (Navigators) will compete in the USA's biggest week of cycling, the First Union Cycling Series from June 4-9 in Philadelphia, Lancaster and Trenton

"Winning twice in Philadelphia has been the greatest accomplishment in my cycling career, and I welcome the opportunity to defend my title," said Rodriguez. "I've been training hard and racing well this year, and I know the tough field of competitors will be competing to take the crown from me, including wildcards like Marty."

After winning the match sprint gold medal in Sydney, Nothstein has refocused on the endurance events on the track, competing in a number of Six Day events last winter. He is also aiming to do well in road and criterium racing.

"Growing up nearby and having worked the event selling t-shirts as a kid, it has always been a dream of mine to compete and win at the First Union USPRO Cycling Championship," said Nothstein. "I look forward to climbing the 'Manayunk Wall' with the best cyclists in the world."
