Eadie puts on a show

Round four in the Queensland Summer of Cycling was held by the Goldstars Cycling Club at Nerang Velodrome on Friday night.

After a week of talks with Sean Eadie we were able to bring him up from an AIS training camp in Adelaide for our carnival, and he stayed to race the Saturday Night as well.

We also invited along Sarah Carrigan who recently won the National Womens Time Trial Championship to race in the Women's event. Sarah said that she had enjoyed her evening on the track and included a bit of variety in her training schedule before she returns to Europe to join her new professional team.

Racing started at 5pm with juniors leading in to the evening session which included an Invitational sprint series including Sean Eadie, Danny Day and Sean Hopkins. After a 200m Qualifying it was Eadie with 11.30 Hopkins and Day both recording 11.73 leaving them to ride off, Day won in a time of 11.98.

In the final Eadie was content to lead out Day and held him off to the line in 11.57.

The main Mikes Bikes Wheel race was won in fine style by Micheal Ford and Clair Schneider took the money in The Qld Diamond Exchange Womens Wheel Race.

The Goldstars club would like to extend our thanks to Sean for his promotion of our event.
