Day 7: Men's 60 - 64 Points: Nepp Wins Points Title

Manfred Nepp gained victory in the points race for the age category sixty to sixty-four on the final day of the 8th World Masters Track Championships.

The German rider two of the four sprints and was placed in the other two to collect fourteen points four more than the silver medallist Australia's David South who earlier in the week was victorious in the pursuit.

Third place went to Brian Dacey who gained his second bronze medal with eight points. His other medal podium position was in the pursuit.

Day 7: Men's 65+ Points: Victory For Altweck

Otto Altweck collected a third medal when he won the points race for the age category sixty-five plus.

The German rider collected thirteen points to add another gold to the one he won in the sprint earlier in the week. His other medal silver came in the pursuit. His tally of points was three more than the runner-up Bob Kay of the USA.

Kaye, who already had gold, silver and bronze finished third in the final sprint to gain two points and over take Italy's Luigi Fabbri whom had to settle for the bronze. This was the Italian's second bronze his other came in the sprint.

Day 7: Women's 30-39 Points: Hunter Wins Second Title.

Angela Hunter has gained victory in the points race in the thirty to thirty-nine age category. The British rider from Hyde in Cheshire won two of the six sprints and was placed in the remaining four to end the race with twenty-one points. This gave her six more than the runner-up Suzie Tignor from the USA.

America also won bronze when Carla Kooehler. Koehler and Tignor were on the same points. Tignor was placed second on a count back and Koehler third.

Day 7: Women's 40 + Points: Hanson Completes A Clean Sweep

Annette Hanson completed a clean sweep of victories when she added the points race to the time trial, sprint and pursuit for the age category forty plus on the final day of the 8th World Masters Track Championships.

The American won three of the five sprint and was placed in the other two to collect seventeen points five more than her Dutch rival Marion Bax. Third place went to Isabel Leon Moncada who made the long journey worth while when her bronze gave her a hat trick of medals.

Day 6: Men's Points 35-39: Williams Scores A Hat Trick

Kenny Williams completed a hat trick of victories when he won the points race for the age category thirty-five to thirty-nine at the 8th World Masters Track Championships which are being held at the Manchester Velodrome.

The American who had already pocketed the time trial and pursuit gold medals collected points to twenty-six win by five points from Jeff Snodin from Melton Mowbray. Londoner Paul Mill scored twenty points to take bronze.

Day 6: Men's Points 30-34: Taylor Claims A Second Gold

Bryan Taylor added the points race gold medal to the one won in the individual pursuit for the age category thirty-thirty-four at the 8th World Masters Track Championships which are being held at the Manchester Velodrome.

Taylor from Bromley in Kent dominated in the event winning six of the twelve sprints amassing fifty-two to move up from runners-up spot to top place and finishing sixteen points ahead of Dublin's Paul Doyle.

Bronze went to Peter Coulson of America who finished on thirty-one points. Earlier in the week Coulson gained silver in the pursuit behind Taylor.

Day 6: Men's Points 55-59: Smith Wins Points Title

Jeff Smith made the long journey from Australia worth it when he collected gold in a closely contested points race for the age category fifty-five to fifty-nine plus at the 8th World Masters Track Championships which are being held at the Manchester Velodrome.

Smith was placed in every one of the six sprints to finish on sixteen points just two more than Willi Moore the Olympic World and Commonwealth team pursuit medallist from Frodsham, Cheshire.

Just one point behind in the bronze medal position was another Australian Denis Fahey. Earlier in the week Fahey finished runner-up in the individual pursuit one place higher than Moore.

Day 6: Men's Points 50-54: Hallam Continues Winning Ways

Ian Hallam brought his tally of wins to four with victory in the points race for the age category fifty to fifty-four plus at the 8th World Masters Track Championships which are being held at the Manchester Velodrome.

The flying dentist from Waterlooville, Hampshire, scored twenty points to win his eleventh gold medal at the track championships. He also has two golds from the World Masters Road Race championship.

Hallam will ride his last race tomorrow when he competes in the Muratti Cup. He retired in the seventies having won medals at Olympic, World and Commonwealth Games. With the popularity of masters cycling growing Hallam made a successful come back and added to his medal total.

In the battle for silver and bronze Walter Kramp from Germany and Canada's Luis Bernhardt were tied on eleven points. On count back the silver was awarded to Kramp and with Bernhardt having to settle for the bronze.
