Racing was at its best with the sports top competition. The main focus for the elite riders was the Keirin finals. Several heats were held throughout the night of racing and the top riders finished in the final round. Spike Pro Team had both Andy Lakatosh and Giddeon Massie in the finals along with Argentinas Leandro Botasso, Sebastian Alexandre and several other riders from the USA. After three great rounds of racing, Massie took first place in the finals with Fujis Shane Kline in second and Toyota Uniteds Bobby Lea in third. The Air Products riders had their chance to showcase what they have learned in this premier developmental cycling program and showed T-town some great competition. The top three riders from the girls 13-16 group were Steph Vargas, Dana Feiss, and Taylor Farnsworth. For the boys 13-16 group it was Zack Noonan taking the gold, Zack Cooperman with the silver, and Colton Hinkle with the bronze. The boys 15-18 group had Ryan Symancek, Nick Roeder, and Christopher Spatz as the top three competitors. In the adult classes, the first through third place women 19 + were Patty Powers, Ginny Hertzog, and Stephanie Surch. The top three men 40 + were Jim Clune, Dale Phillips, and Randy Monceaux. For the final Air Products race of the night, the men 19-39 had an action packed race with Kyle Schutt in first, Michael Beahm in second, and Tim Fitzgerald in third. Elite womens racing was equally exciting during the night at the Velodrome. In the 1km finals, USAs Sarah Uhl raced her heart out and took first place over Fujis Erica Allar and Victorys Kim Geist. A crash took place in the womens 5 Mile Final, but no one was badly injured and the race continued. Erica Allar made a strong comeback after the crash, but could not shut out Sarah Uhl who once again took the win. For the last race of the evening, the feature Artie Greenburg 10 Mile Memorial, the men gave an astounding effort. Throughout the race it seemed as though Argentinas Sebastian Donadio would be the winner, but in the last lap dropped out of the race allowing fellow countryman Sebastian Alexandre to the lead. Alexandre passed Bobby Lea in the last turn and crossed the finish line first with a photo finish. It was a great end to an awesome night of racing.
