Results and Reports for AustraliaPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to cyclingnews Tasmanian Madison ChampionshipSilverdome, Tasmania, December 8, 2005West Tamar cyclists Matthew Goss and Bernard Sulzberger have combined to take out the prestigious Tasmanian Madison Championship, held at the Silverdome on Thursday night. Goss used his superior speed to continuosly edge out the the team of Nathan Clarke and Stephen Rossendell in the sprints, and in combination with Sulzberger was able to cover any attacking moves made by teams attempting to gain a lap. Goss and Sulzberger, both members of the Tasmanian Institute of Sport, maintained their advantage throughout the race and finished six clear of Clarke and Rossendell. Experienced Devonport team Gareth Atkins and Daniel Cutting claimed the bronze medal on a countback, ahead of Launceston brothers Will and Tom Robinson, after both teams finished on 13 points. Racing was marred by a crash when Andrew Loft and Tom Robinson clipped wheels and fell heavily in the closing stages, but both remounted and were able to complete the race.
