North American Handmade Bicycle Show 2007

By James Huang

Welcome to Cyclingnews' coverage of the 2007 North American Handmade Bicycle Show in San Jose, CA.

Although only in its third year, the NAHBS has already earned a solid reputation not only as a premier showcase for some of the world's foremost framebuilders. These include established icons such as Richard Sachs, Bruce Gordon, Roland Della Santa, and Brian Baylis, as well as innovative relative newcomers Sacha White of Vanilla Bicycles and Sycip Design.

At its essence, the NAHBS is a passing showcase of what a bicycle can be when time and money are not included in the list of concerns. Although performance is still a high priority, form takes precedence over function in this venue as a general rule, and creativity and craftsmanship are held in higher regard than weight and stiffness.

Stay tuned to Cyclingnews for daily coverage from the show floor, and more information can be found at www.handmadebicycleshow.com.
