Steve, affectionately known to his club mates as "Jack Rabbit" died in1999 when tragically hit by a car whilst on an Easter training ride. Bill Hielscher was a popular winner when in a sprint finish he narrowly defeated Arthur Puie who in a strong ride caught the leaders not long before the line.Ron Kramer held off the fast finishing scratch rider Phil Dunn to record third place with Phil recording the fastest time. Ashleigh Vagg added to her recent successes with a good win in the D grade Alf Fagg memorial. The prizes are supplied to the club for this race to honour the memory of her father by Sandra & Graham McKenna. The name Kramer was recorded again when Stacey went one better than her father to record second place (Ron was third in the Steve Pratt memorial) with Ray Meyer in third place.
