On the May long weekend the Bundaberg cycling club held races on their Smith's Crossing circuit, a testing course comprised of rolling hills just north of Bundaberg.

Allowing for the fact that is was a holiday weekend, officials were pleased with the number of riders who competed. In the 44km A,B and C grade combined handicap, Danny Vagg led for most of the race to score a good win over Peta Sandford, with the ever consistent Phil Dunn riding from the scratch mark to score third place & record the fastest time

The D Grade 22km km handicap was a hard fought-out affair with a good field of contestants, but none were able match Rebecca Nelson who rode to victory ahead of Peter Blyth & Peter Klein, who dead-heated for both the third place & for fastest time.

In the 6km E grade race, Katrina Mcdonald had a good win in this event ahead of Ashley Vagg.
