With perfect racing conditions on Saturday's combined handicap event on the Gayndah road course, Greg Lawler won the 60km A and B Grade event riding off a three-minute handicap. Lawler beat his co-markers home, with Keith Mitchell of Bundaberg finishing second ahead of Steve Creed-Jacobs and Dave Trevorrow.

The scratch riders Peter Ransome, David Keevers, Chris Ihle, Peter Munt and Hayden Josefski continue to run hot and cold. The group broke up after travelling only 10km from the start and it was left to Peter Munt and Hayden Josefski to ride the remaining 50km together, finishing with the fastest time by over a minute. Josefski's time for Journey was 1hr 25mins 6secs.

A brilliant ride by Ben Lavender winning the 40km combined veteran and C Grade race. Lavender riding off scratch out-sprinted his more experienced co-markers over the line. Viv Young was second and Nev Ransome third. Hugh (the lion-heart) Humphries riding off an eleven minute handicap was caught on Dog Hill only two kilometers from the finish. Lavender's time was 1hr 9mins 58secs.

Junior coach Kev James rode with promising sub-juniors Quinton Miller and Robert Saunders over the 20km course. Miller was first home in 43mins 35secs.

A 50km Scratch Race for A & B Grades and a 40km Scratch Race for C Grade and Vets will take place along Gayndah Road. Nominations will be taken from 1.00pm, Woocoo Shire Office. Racing will start at 2.00pm sharp.
