Results and Reports from AustraliaPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to Cyclingnews P E Green Memorial RaceCressy Tasmania, Saturday, August 16 2003By Matthew Conn It was a case of one up and one down for the Atkins brothers at Saturday's P E Green cycle race at Cressy. While Gareth Atkins sprinted to victory at the end of the 97km race, his elder brother Matthew was left sitting in the road after tangling with another rider in the rush to the line. Australian representative, Stephanie Williams, led the latter stages of the grouped handicap race, around the foothills of Poatina Williams spent nearly 40km in the lead after breaking away from her group, but was brought back by the combined A and B grade bunch. In the final sprint to the finish line, Gareth Atkins held out Jason Bellchambers and Matt Goss, while Wes Sulzberger and Matthew Atkins' clash and subsequent crash also brought down Kharne Hammersley. The coastal siblings were both preparing for the Tasmanian round of the Tattersall's Cup race, to be held in Launceston on August 27 and although both have entered for next week's round in Victoria, it remains to be confirmed if Matthew has broken his collar bone as a result of the tumble. In the junior ranks, Aaron Jones, Andrew Dolan and Joseph Bodis were the winners of their respective categories while John Rayner, Clay Murfet and Ed Robinson took out the fastest time awards.
