With due respect to Dortmund and Grenoble, the six days of Munich will raise the level of the six day season, since all the top contenders from the two previous races will meet on the same track in the Olympiahalle of Munich. Both winning pairs, Swiss Bruno Risi and Kurt Betschart from Dortmund and Italians Adriano Baffi and Andrea Collinelli from Grenoble will start. Dortmund runner up Silvio Martinello will race this time with German Andreas Kappes (fifth in Dortmund), while Dane Michael Sandstød rides with compatriot Tayeb Braikia (sixth in Dortmund). His Dortmund teammate Jacob Piil is concentrating on the coming road season. Also, there's the Spanish Madison World Champions Llaneras and Galvez together again.

Other pairs to watch: Belgians Etienne De Wilde and Matthew Gilmore, with the latter's stomach in order again. Madsen and Pollack, Beikirch and Villa and once again, the German-Australian combination Bartko and McGrory.
