1998 Results     Historical Archive     Teams     The Stages: Stage 1 - Creil - Noyon, 193.5 kms: Stage 2 - La Croix-Saint-Ouen - Senlis, 98.5 kms: Stage 3 - Senlis - Creil: 103.5 kms: Preview The Tour de L'Oise sits between the Spring Classis and the longer stage races like the Giro d'Italia, Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré, and the Tour de France. Starting in 1935, the race was traditionally held over 3 days. However, since 1998, the three stages are now contested over a weekend a change partly designed to get more spectators involved. The race is held in the area north of Paris around the forests and valleys of Compiègne. The race winds through the villages in this region with Creil, Noyon, La-Croix-Saint-Ouen and Senlis featured. The riders will pass Pierrefonds, which is known for its magnificient medieval castle. The narrow roads make the race ideal for very attacking riders and there have been a number of historical solo breakaways.
