Stage 3, Senlis - Creil: 103.5 kms:

Estonian Jann Kirsipuu won the Le Tour de l'Oise, by a few seconds that he gained on intermediate bonification sprints. He was the favourite to win the race and repeated Casino's success of last year, when Kazak Alexandre Vinokourov took the overall GC.

102 riders left Senlis for the 102.5 kms to Creil. Approaching Creil, at km 84.5, was the only sprint premie of the stage. The race was not very active leading up to this although there were a number of attempts at creating breaks. Overall the peloton seemed content to ride complete.

But Jann Kirsipuu was clearly ambitious and he has shown in the intermediate sprints that he is the quickest rider in the race. He won the sprint premie to take the precious seconds. All that remained was 2 finishing laps each of 9 kms.

On the last lap, 6 riders went clear - Kirsipuu, Streel (for the second time in the day having been in the break in the morning stage), Milesi, Blaudzun, Rastelli and Barthe. They had an 18 second gap on the peloton leading to the sprint.

Jann Kirsipuu, won the sprint and took the overall in the 53rd Tour de l'Oise.
