Kuota's new K-Factor is the new tri frame that's derived from the Ironman-winning
Kalibur, with a monocoque frame that has an special air channel on the
top tube and a taller headtube for less aggressive geometry that offers
more comfort. K-Factor has Kuota's new straight Aero fork and aero bladed
seatstays, just like it's big brother Kalibur.

No visit to the EICMA Milano show would be complete without a close look
at Campagnolo's offerings. For 2006, there were few major changes to Campagnolo's
groups. However, one often overlooked but important bicycle component
is the chain and Campagnolo takes great pride in making their own chains
        in-house.
Campagnolo has three all-new Ultra Narrow 10 speed chains, named because
of the 5.9mm width and and is available for Record, Chorus and Veloce
groups. Campagnolo claims that the Record Ultra Narrow chain weighs 255
        grams.

      Wheels are real
Totally restyled for 2006, Campagnolo's Eurus wheels (R) use varying
depth rims: 26mm front and 30mm rear and are lighter than the previous
version, weighing a claimed 1,510 grams per pair. Taking a tip from sister
company Fulcrum, Eurus now has ultra-aero aluminium spokes and the freehub
        uses Campagnolo's new aluminum body.

        hub on the pulling flange.

Cyclingnews ran into two-time women's Olympic MTB champ Paola
Pezzo on her way to sign autographs at her bike sponsor Specialzed stand.
Pezzo retired from competition at this year's world championships, finishing
        a respectable 14th place.
"Well I wanted a top 10 finish, but I has some cramps at the end. But
I'm happy with the way my career finished," said Pezzo to Cyclingnews.
"But I'm not finished riding; I'll still do Gran Fondo [marathon] events."
(leftmost pic) Paolo Rosola (L), Pezzo (C) and their son Kevin (R) were
out for a family day at the bike show, and Cyclingnews wanted to
take a snap of mom and son. But Kevin said "Nothin' doin!"

Colnago's new for 2006 Strada Sc (bottom L) has a unique blend of custom-drawn
oversize triple-butted Scandium SC 7000-T6 tubing, mated to sleek carbon
fibre rear chainstays for an exciting, responsive ride. Available as either
a complete bicycle or frame only, the Strada Sc has a 1 1/8" headtube,
carbon fibre non-integrated fork and a replaceable rear derailleur hanger.

All new for 2006, the Paris Carbon has a monocoque, high modulus unidirectional
46HM3K carbon fibre frameset, with Pinarello ONDA fork and rear triangle.
The unpainted weight for a size 54 frame is 990 grams, but this white

Select Pinarello and Opera models for 2006 feature the M.O.st oversize
bottom bracket as used by Alessandro Petacchi on his Pinarello Dogma FP
and Alejandro Valverde on his Opera Leonardo FP. The M.O.s.t. oversize
bottom bracket offers more area to Tig-weld, and is said to render the
bottom bracket area at least 15 percent more rigid.
Also featuring roller bearings, the M.O.s.t. bottom bracket is claimed
to have far less friction (-20%) than a conventional BB, thereby providing
easier, more efficient pedaling. With 55mm diameter shell, ISIS spindle
and one-inch roller bearing races, M.O.st BBs are also compatible with
        Campagnolo and Shimano bottom brackets.

Certainly one of the best looking bikes at the EICMA Milano show, the
Opera Leonardo FP is an evolution of the model Alejandro Valverde rode
to a Tour de France stage win this year.
Pinarello's sister brand has constructed this monocoque frame using
high modulus 46HM3K unidirectional carbon fibre, and features new internal
lugs, an Opera OPUS carbon fork, rear triangle and MO.st. oversize bottom
bracket. Opera claims that an unpainted 54cm frame weighs 990 grams and
        is available in nine sizes.
