The short 42.3 kilometer route involves riders taking on a continual, but not excessive climb from Tumut to the top of the hill at Talbingo.
This is a smaller stage at the beginning of the race, giving the racers a chance to warm up for the harder stages ahead. Some rolling hills and a catagory two climb are involved. In the afternoon, riders will tackle the Talbingo Time Trial.
