during the first race of the day.
- Junior
racer Spencer Spagnola, Excel Sports
- The sun
was out but the grass was still wet as the Men's C field bunches up early
on.
- Lisa Vorell,
Syntace goes over the barrier.
- Richard
Murphy (Celo Pacific) shows good form leading into the run up.
- Masters
45+ racer Jonathan Livesay (PAA/Merrill Lynch) takes 1st place and extends
his points lead over Ricky Russell (Cycles Veloce).
- Felt Bicycle's
Mark Salmon takes 2nd place aboard a frame he helped create, Felt's F1X.
- Brian Keate,
Team Velocity on his way to the Masters 30+ win.
- By the
time the 11:00 race was held the grass was already a mess. Jeremy Dixon,
Minute Maid/Dasani/La Grange, works the off-camber mud ruts.
- Melissa
Fletcher, Trek San Diego/Clif Bar takes her smile straight to the bank
- 3rd place in Women's A.
- Chris Gallup
later rolled his Dugast tubular and ran across the line to win the Masters
40+.
- David Bales
(Celo Pacific), 5th place, 40+
- Velocity's
Ted Posch was the Masters 35+ winner, and overtook the Series points lead
from his teammate Mike McMahon, who raced Men's A instead the past two weekends.

turns and decents for a 2nd place in Masters 35+
- Women's
So Cal Cross Cup points leader Jennifer Franklin finished 2nd to Dorothy
Wong today. Franklin holds a slim one point lead over Wong in the closest
race of the series.

Race winner and series points leader Brent Prenzlow (Celo Pacific/Felt Bicycles)
leads on lap 1.
- Jeff Herring
(Kelly Bike Co.) and Emilio Cervantes (Excel) working hard to stay in
contact.
- Gary Hanson
(Amgen) chases the three early leaders.
- Mike McMahon
(Velocity) is chased by Celo Pacific racers.
- Leo Sandoval
(Helen's) is followed by Ted Posch, who is doing his second race of the
day.
- 7th place
finisher Paul Cusick (Dare) negotiates the technical descent.
- In his
first cross race this year mountain bike pro Garnet Vertican (ODI/Southridge)
rides fast enough to take the final cash position -- 8th place.
- Emilio
Cervantes (Excel) is clearly focused and rides strongly to second place.
- Brent Prenzlow
keeps the pressure on at the front.
- Jeff Herring
chases hard in 3rd place at the time.
- 1st year
racer Tony Smith (Celo Pacific) recovers strongly from a poor start and
moves all the way up to 4th place riding just ahead of Herring and Hanson
here.
- John Behrens
(Celo Pacific) takes 9th on the day.
- Brent Prenzlow
gets away on the last lap to take the win.
- Erik Burgan
(Pacific Sunset Velo) who is currently tied with Emilio Cervantes for
second in the points series, moved up from 6th place to 3rd at the finish
with a very strong ending ride.
- Tony Smith
digs deep for a fine finish.
