Day 5 - November 4

Aldag and Martinello with clear lead

Three teams vying for second place

With just one night to go in the 61st Six Days of Dortmund, Rolf Aldag and Silvio Martinello have forged an impressive 84 point lead over the nearest competition. The experienced German/Italian pair are on 382 points, compared with Andreas Beikirch/Andreas Kappes on 298 points and Bruno Risi/Kurt Betschart on 284 points. One lap behind are Stuart O'Grady/Scott McGrory, on 293 points.

The points margin to the leaders is too great for the other teams to make up, however if any one of them can put a lap into Aldag and Martinello on the final night, then they can win the Dortmund Six.

Two riders had abandoned the race on the second last night: Gerd Dörich and Frank Kowatschitsch. A new team was created with Mario Vonhof and Lars Teutenberg.
