Texas State Track Championships

June 5, 2004

By Adam Hamza

Great results from the State Championships held at Houston's very own Alkek Velodrome this weekend. After having most of Friday night's session rained out most of the events had to all be slammed into Saturday's schedule. This didn't affect the stellar performance of the GCCA riders out there. With the exception of the 200m sprints we were on the podium in every event but one. And on top of the podium in all those cases with the exception of a silver in the Category 4 kilo. With the addition to the above events, Mat Stephens also was the overall Category 1-2-3 "Omnium Champion," earning it for having the most consistent top placings. Great job to all the GCCA riders and to Charlotte Miller who helped give time splits and offering her World Champion experience to the fold!
