Mackenzie broke the national record for the under 17 girls sprint in qualifying today, clocking 12.367s, which was her second record at the championship, taking more than half a second off the old mark. This was the last remaining national record that had not been broken on the new indoor velodrome in Invercargill. "This facility is a vital part of our BikeNZ programme for our track riders," said Mark Elliott, High Performance Director for BikeNZ. "It is a world class cycling facility and our riders are showing the benefit with some excellent times and performances."
