Six Days of Amsterdam - 6DNetherlands, October 16-21, 2006Main Page Results Overall standings Previous Day Day 6 - October 21:Stam and Schep recover to take victoryDanny Stam and Peter Schep have won their first six day as a team. On Saturday evening, the Dutch duo won the Amsterdam six-day, their second six-day event together. Normally Danny Stam rides with Robert Slippens, but in August, Slippens was severly injured during a road race in Belgium. With an final attack in the last event of the night, Stam and Schep overtook the Swiss combination Risi and Marvulli, the leaders after night five. During their successful effort to take back a lap on the leaders, they brought the Spanish combination Llaneras and Galvez with them. But since the Spaniards had accumulated fewer points, they weren't a threat for the overall victory. The last night was spoiled by a crash from German Robert Bartko and Italian Marco Villa during the Madison halfway through the night. Both riders had to abandon the six-day, and Villa was brought over to hospital with a concussion. Before the crash, the Italian was leading the race together with his Belgian companion Iljo Keisse. Keisse continued the race with Bartko's partner, Andreas Beikirch.
