Ontario Criterium

New professional Brice Jones picked up his second first placing of the season in the Ontario Criterium, held on Sunday, March 31, 2002.
The peleton stayed intact for most of the race, with winds traveling at over 30mph took the speed out of all the early breakaway attempts.
A small group of four riders made a sucessful breakaway with two laps to go, with Mercury riders Brice Jones and Plamen Stoyanov bridging to the leading group with one lap to go.
The breakaway went down to a sprint to the line, with Jones and Stoyanov crossing the line fist and second. Stoyanov was relegated to third place for hindering European pro Miguel Meza (Colpack) in the final kilometre of the event.
