Results and Reports from AustraliaPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to Cyclingnews Ipswich Amateur Cycling Club - Summer criterium seriesCarole Park, November 17, 2002The second race in the summer criterium series was held at Mica St, Carole Park on Sunday November 17 at 7 am. The weather was overcast but still warm with a steady cross wind on the uphill finish that created testing conditions for the riders. Two races were held, a combined A/B grade over 40 minutes plus a lap and combined C/D grade over 35mins. A/B Grade The pace was on from the beginning with numerous unsuccessful attacks. Eventually Damien Peall was able to get a small gap on the field. Craig Taylor, who is showing some great form, was able to bridge the gap to Damien. The rest of the field chased, but not hard enough. Craig, working on his own by this time, lapped the field with 2 laps to go. A dramatic duel ensued with Brian Dowse working hard to beat the bunch. The sprint was won by the all conquering Craig Taylor just edging Ross Logan on the line. C/D Grade A group of over twenty riders worked consistentally around the 900m meter circuit. No one was able to get away although there was plenty of attempts especially over the last couple of laps. Andrew Hargreaves proved to be to strong on the day. Periannal sprinter and self confessed hard man John Smith grabbed second place from Reece Wells. John, who at 48 gave almost 20 years to Reece was elated by his win.
