Results and Reports from AustraliaPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to Cyclingnews Mildura-Coomealla Cycling Club CriteriumDecember 8, 2002New circuit tests usual suspectsBy Peter Winton Mildura riders ventured to a new crit circuit on Sunday morning, Dec. 8 for the programmed event. This new circuit is a hot mix bitumen road surface nestled between Home Hardware and Mildura Gateway Kitchens display centre and what a top little track it proved to be. Unfortunately for Barry Pollock, he didn't quite make the start line. Upon approaching the rear entrance to the circuit Barry skated across some loose, fine grade stones and came adrift of his treadly. The field was suddenly down to 12 with half a dozen regulars involved in the Coomealla Triathlon over at Dareton (NSW). Lining up on this occasion were Kevin Tankard, Rob McNally, Richard Hale and Ian Beruldsen (screaming all the way!) to the A grade start. Harry Robbins, Jack Lokan, Peter Winton and Brendan Liddle in the killer "B's", while C grade saw Dion Basse-Anstee face up to Dave Priest, Adrian Lloyd and Sam Priest. Small numbers unfortunately but such is the way in our neck of the woods (or is that desert?). The results were almost standard fare with Kev Tankard having a better top end speed than Rob McNally, Brendan Liddle by a beer-can length over Peter Winton and Dion Basse-Anstee too young and fit for his challengers. Clubbies at the Coomie tri included Chris Baudry, winner of his section, Harvey Dwyer also a winner in his group.
