Anastopoulos keeps the lead

Vassilis Anastopoulos (Volksbank Ideal) has kept the cyan leader's jersey for a second day, despite the attack of Bulgarian Georgi Tchanliev, who took the stage win after a 70 km/h sprint to the finish line. The 10" time bonus is enough to push Tchanliev to second place overall, but not enough to give him the lead of the tour.

There were many attacks during the race. Florient Cabirot (CC Martiques), and Jochen Summer (Volksbank, sprints classification leader) escaped from the peloton at 40km, building a maximum lead of 1'30 until they were caught with 10 km to go. The Volksbank teammates worked very hard and succeeded in keeping Summer in the sprint jersey, as the Austrian won both intermediate sprints and all but ensured he will win that classification.
