Deloraine, Tasmania, May 1, 2005

The Calvary Health Northern Vets held a 45km graded race at Deloraine on Sunday, with several visitors from the North West Club helping to make up a field of 54 riders. With strong Westerly winds the stronger grades averaged close to 50kmh on the outward journey to Hagley. On the return to Deloraine the stronger riders shone in all divisions. Excellent rides were put in by first year riders Scott Evans and Brendan Davie; these two will be very prominent when the bigger races come along as the season progresses. Another great ride was put in by Paul Turner, who has been enjoying his racing since he reached the age eligible for Veteran Cycling. Next race will be at Longford on Sunday May 8th starting at 10am, with entries closing at 9.45am. Duty members will be Lloyd Redman and Ian Simms.
