Davis Bike Club hosted the 30th 4th of July criterium on the tree shaded streets of downtown Davis, California. Starting at 7:30 the12 events ranged from a kid's fun ride through to most of the USCF categories, Pro/Elite Women 1/2 and Pro/Elite Men 1/2 which attracted a few UCI Continental riders. The weather remained what the locals would consider mild which translates to little higher than 35 C. by mid-afternoon. The Pro/Elite Women's race was taken by Shelly Olds (Proman/Paradigm) in a bunch sprint with district champ Taitt Sato (McGuire Cycling) taking second and Brenda Lyons (Victory Brewing) grabbing third. The Pro/Elite Men's race saw another bunch sprint won by Sterling Magnell (Toyota-United) with Devan Vigus (Monex) at second and California's #2 ranked criterium specialist, Jamiel Danesh (RHVilla/Montano Velo) finishing third.
