Results and Reports from CanadaPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to cyclingnews Blizzard Bike ClubFort St. John, BC, May 14, 2006The Blizzard Bike Club came away from a pair of Challenge Cup races last Sunday, in Grande Prairie, with 87 points to GP's 95 and Dawson Creek's 43. After three races, the Blizzards presently lead the series, 209 points to GP's 119 and Dawson Creek's 82. Sunday morning started with a 2 km Grovedale hill climb. Joe Radench of GP easily won with a 5:51 minute time. Trevor Kolkea of Dawson Creek was second at 6:09 and Blaine Richter out-sprinted Pat Ferris for third at 6:24. Peter Watson of GP was 5th at 6:39. Sixteen riders rode the hill. Blaine Richter won the 70 km afternoon road race with a time of 1:55:44 hours. He broke away from the group of four lead riders for the win. Robert Seitz of GP was second, two seconds later. Joe Radench got past Pat Ferris for third at 1:55:48. Jamie Kroschel of DC was 5th at 1:58:06. Eighteen riders did the 70 km distance on Highway 40. Barb Polehoykie won the 50 km road race with 1:41:35. Colter Young (Bliz) was second at 1:41:45 and Gord Harris third at 1:42:18. Six riders were in this event. It was an all Dawson Creek show for the top three in the 30 km event. Roger Bouchard of Dawson Creek won with 1:04:42, Gillian Manson of Dawson Creek was second at 1:06:20 and Rob Humphries third at 1:06:58. Eight riders did the distance. Local results 2006 |
