Mississauga criterium, May 2, 2006

Sixty eight riders turned out for tonight's Tues. Night Midweek Criterium at the Buckhorn circuit in Mississauga. The event was the monthly points race with a sprint for 5,3 and 1 points every four laps. Points were doubled for 20 laps to go and for the finish. The first points were taken by Jeff Schiller (Team RACE), fresh from the Tour of Shenandoah, but it wasn't until with about thirty laps to go that a two man break of Heath Cockburn (La Bicicletta) and Damian Kurzawinski (ZM Cycle Fitness) managed to pull away from a four man chase and scooped up the majority of the points. Though Heath won the final sprint Damian took enough of the intermediate points including the double points at 20 laps to go to take the win. Jeff Schiller took the field sprint and broke the tie for third with Peter Morse (Jet Fuel).
