Results and Reports from AustraliaPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to Cyclingnews Peel Districts CCNovember 8-12, 2006Joe Cox maintained his lead in the Peel Cycling Time Trial Series and Phil Diesel cracks the 23min mark for the 16km event. Cox rode strong to deliver his best time and grab valuable points in the 10 race series. Race 5 also saw Phil Diesel "fly" home recording a morale boosting 22min 55sec mark and consolidate 2nd spot overall. Richard Le Tessier gained maximum pts crossing the line 65sec under his previous best time. Senior veteran rider Hal Burdon bettered his best time by 42sec stopping the clock on 32min 18sec. Race 6 continues on Wednesday 15th November. The Back to Mundijong Gala Day proved to be an outstanding success with past champions on hand to watch a great mornings racing. Racing was tough in A Grade with numerous breakaway attempts which were smartly nullified by the likes of Eric Cox and Paul Moke, in the sprinting department Paul Brown was sensational and powered home ahead of Eric Cox, Bryan Williams and Jeffery Woodland fourth. Wayne Lally got the nod in a sprint to the line in B Grade holding off Darren Lee, Dave Bebee and Steve Ware fourth. Several riders nearly came undone in the home straight in a mix up with competitors in A Grade. Phil Edwards was the pace setter in C Grade but on the line Colin Rossiter had the goods holding out Doug McDonald, Douglas Willing and Andy Bennett. A good field in D Grade got the mornings racing off to a great start and in a close finish Ray Craig grabbed line honours from Frank Kettle, Jack Iveson third and Ernst Kreutzer fourth. Criterium racing got underway for the Peel Cycling Club with a small field testing the Jandakot course. As expected Dave Berglund opened his summer campaign with an attacking ride in A Grade, Berglund won convincingly leaving Steve Ware and Raymond Loly to sprint for the minor placing’s. Ware got the nod from Loly and Marcel Kastell fourth. Andy Bennett was strong throughout the B Grade event to lead Richard Le Tessier to the line from Paul Slocombe third.
