Saturdays event was four laps of the tough Schoolhouse Hill circuit,52km in total. 19 riders started. Shane Edwards riding from the 7min mark was the outstanding rider, easily taking out the finishing sprint. Edwards and his co-markers, Jeff Hibberd,Warren Osborne,Kevin Bartlett and Ian Baker were able to catch the middle and limit groups and hold out the scratch group of Alan Adams,Brett Loney,Kevin Simmons and Ron Burgess. Jeff Hibberd finished 2nd from Brett Bender,3rd. Warren Osborne was 4th with Ian Baker and Rhys Melville riding a strong race from the 12min mark to complete the top six placings. Brett Loney having his first ride from scratch, outsprinted his co-markers to record fastest time of 1hour 21mins 30secs for the 52km course. Jodie Johns, finished in 7th place, after a strong ride from her limit mark. Racing next week(Sat 20/5)is from Burgess Signs at 2pm. Local results 2006 |
