Results and Reports from AustraliaPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to Cyclingnews Riverland Cycling ClubLyrup, South Australia, June 26, 2005Riverland Cycling Club members rode the hilly and challenging Lyrup course on Sunday. The Lyrup course is an 11km per lap circuit, and on Sunday some riders were able to complete four laps while others managed three laps. Clear weather but rough road conditions met the cyclists with Mark Moore and Ruth Strout riding off limit, closely followed by Mick Gray who rapidly rounded them up on the first stretch of road. Adam Wright, Angelo Ylia and Brett Carpenter stayed together for most of the race. Kel Elleway and Lee Stevens rode off of scratch. The results show that it was every rider for themselves at the end. Mick Gray did well to overtake some of the bunch that were ahead, as did Mark Moore. Brett Carpenter managed to stave off all comers at the finish, with Mick Gray pushing hard for second and squeezing in front of Angelo Ylia who placed third. Mark Moore was fourth with Adam Wright coming fifth. Lee Stevens got fastest time, closely followed by Kel Elleway. The next race will start on Sunday at Murtho Road (ETSA sub-station), Paringa, 9.30am and is the Tom Perry Memorial Handicap, a distance of 50km. Local results 2004 |
