The course used the Goulburn Valley service road, Mangalore airport road to Avenel and return to Seymour. Carl Simmons recorded the fastest time of 1hr 9min 34secs, an average speed of 42+ km/h in difficult windy conditions. Andy Garrett, Alan Adams, Silas Fisher,Wayne Klauss and Jeff Hibberd filled the top six fastest times. Simmons' time was 25 seconds outside the record for this course held by Colin Thornton. New club member John Carey chose a tough day and event for his first competitive ride, and was thrilled with his time of 1hr 35mins for the 44km.
