The 68km race, which was sponsored by Dr Frank Clark, attracted 57 starters who braved a very cold wind on a tough hilly course. Included in the race was the Geard's Cycles hill climb. The race held in five grades showed that only the best riders would be at the finish to fight it out for line honours in the $900 contest. Outstanding rides were put in by Andrew Bingley and Sharon Silver in winning their respective grades. The day concluded with a Dinner and presentations at the Quamby Country Club which was enjoyed by the large gathering in attendance.
