The 56km handicap event was run in perfect conditions using a circuit around Mclaren Flat, Mclaren Vale and Willunga that riders had to negotiate three times during the race. Salisbury won with a well-timed effort in a combined group that was just able to hold off the rapidly closing peloton. John Giles took fastest time on the day to claim this prize for the first time in 2005. His close rival James Russell was not in the field today. Brian Wilson continued to crush the opposition, taking a hard earned second to claim his third major result this year. It is not often that a rider is able to claim a place two weeks in a row, and his current form shows a very notable start for a new rider with the club. Geoff Hillman once again worked tirelessly on the long drags and took many turns at the front to earn a deserved fifth. The hard working Peter Blackburn followed up last weeks effort to take sixth again.
