B grade riders proved the strongest on the day, and after reeling in all the middle and front markers up the testing climb over Red Hill the last time, they had the race to themselves. Former Victorian A-Grader Peter Castillo proved too strong in the sprint to win narrowly from Mark Wilkie and Olivier Chartrain. Former Tour De France rider Michael Wilson, having his first ride with the club, took out fastest time.
