Results and Reports from AustraliaPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to Cyclingnews Broadford-Seymour Cycling ClubSeymour, Victoria, August 27, 200520 riders contested Saturday's 57km race on the Seymour-Sugarloaf Creek course, finishing at Hilldene Firestation. The fine weather gave the outmarkers a great chance on this hilly course, but the scratch riders picked up the middle markers mid-race and this strong group reached the leaders at Morella, with 7km to race. The attacking riders were Alan Adams, Ron Burgess, Kevin Bartlett, Duncan Arendse, Wayne Klauss and Peter Jenkins. Brett Bender, Rob Ekberg, Glen Christensen, Jeff Hibberd and Mick Mulquiney were able to hang on to the pace to contest the finish. Adams was too strong and recorded another first and fastest from Jeff Hibberd, who narrowly beat Brett Loney. Adams rode the course in 1 hour 30 minutes. Duncan Arendse, Brett Bender, Ron Burgess, Peter Jenkins, Wayne Klauss, Kevin Bartlett and Rob Ekberg completed the top ten. Steve Watson, riding from scratch was unlucky to puncture, while Mick Mulquiney, Travis Crawley, John Burgess and John Harland were impressive from their handicaps. Next Saturday's event is from Burgess Signs at 2pm.This will be a 37km individual time trial on the Mangalore-Avenel course. Local results 2004 |
